MS Dhoni (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) was born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi. He came from a simple middle-class family. His father worked in a public sector company, and life was not filled with luxury. As a child, Dhoni was more interested in football and badminton than cricket. He even played as a goalkeeper for his school football team. But his life changed when his coach noticed his quick reflexes and suggested he try wicketkeeping in cricket.
During his school days, Dhoni started playing cricket seriously. His powerful hitting and fearless attitude made him stand out. However, success didn’t come easily—he had to balance studies, sports, and financial limitations. Despite the struggles, his passion kept growing. He played for local clubs and gradually made his way into district-level cricket.
Before becoming a cricketer, Dhoni worked as a Ticket Collector (TC) at Kharagpur railway station under the Indian Railways from 2001 to 2003. Life was tough—he managed his job during the day and practiced cricket whenever he could. Many times, he faced rejection and uncertainty, but he never gave up on his dream.
